Placemaking Series: Art + Food + Culture

Placemaking Series: Art + Food + Culture

Thursday, September 17

New City Church

1300 N. Central Avenue

Phoenix, AZ 85004

The ongoing dialogue on how to mold the future of downtown Phoenix continues.

A strong, engaging center of commerce in a city is not complete without Art, Food & Culture. So goes that the fifth entry in the ongoing local AIA sponsored series focuses on Downtown Phoenix’s growing relation to this ideal

In the past, the series past lectures contributed thoughts what other components make a vibrant city, included some of the most obvious parts, such as work, shopping, transportation and infrastructure, and the genesis of any placemaking city: housing.

To dissect and probe how culture intersects with this vision of downtown Phoenix, the discussion is made up of several prominent figures of the area, including Upward Projects founder Craig DeMarco, New City leader Brian Kruckenberg, Herberger Institute dean Steven Tepper, LUX owner Jeff Fischer and the moderator, Phoenix Metro AIA president, Jack DeBartolo.
