Charlie Lazor teaches architecture and design at the University of Minnesota. After graduating with a master’s degree in architecture from Yale University, Lazor co-founded the award-winning modern furniture company, Blu Dot.
In 2003, motivated by his own frustration at not being able to find a modern affordable home for he and his family to live in, Lazor returned to architecture to design one himself. Utilizing the knowledge he’d gleaned from furniture design and manufacture, Lazor emerged from his studio with the ingenious FlatPak house system. The first FlatPak house was shop made and site assembled by Lazor and a skilled team of furniture designers. The everyday enjoyment the Lazors experience in their home is testament to the system’s success and Lazor is pleased to partner with Empryean to bring that living experience to a broader public.
