Munster Residence – George Barris Architect
October 31st, 2017
Nestled in the heart of the desirable (yet fictional) Mockingbird Heights sits this impeccable (and practically indestructible) Second Empire Victorian. Not many of these type of homes exist locally anymore and when they do they do, they don’t last on the market for long! Built on the ruins of a fort, this house was purchased by the Munster Family’s grandfather at the turn of last century and been under the same ownership ever since!
This home has all the charm you’d expect from such haunted homes of the era, dusty wine-cellars, hidden passages on the master staircase (don’t go down there!), quaint bathrooms, attics, trapdoors and dungeons, curated gothic landscaping and interior design, and coffin phone booths! Don’t let its appearance fool you, this house is old (and a little decrepit) but has survived much wear and tear, especially by the clumsy husband and patriarch, Herman!
It’s survived for more than a century under the same ownership and will definitely provide the perfect family home for those easily enchanted by its charms for years to come! The cobwebs are free, but sorry, the Munster Mobile does not convey!
NOTE: This Exclusive Listing is offered for one day only and EXPIRES at midnight on 10/31, don’t miss out!
Bennie Gonzales Original South Mountain Area
October 6th, 2017
This desert home was a custom design by Arizona Architect, Bennie Gonzales. New in 1968, the FIVE bedroom home retaines a level of original detail often lost in these special houses. With block thermal massing, well placed siting select window placement, deep overhangs and oversized patios this home represents a graceful and timeless Arizona lifestyle seldom captured today. Five generous bedrooms and three large baths, this home easily lives to current standards. The home is original condition. A “Kiva” style fireplace anchors the living room den and the house flows beautifully. Original signature details remain such as the “Art-Glass Studio” custom entry glass, wrought iron lamps and wood beamed ceilings. South Mountain/Baseline Corridor Desert Lot
August 4th, 2017
Not far from where Frank Lloyd Wright explored his first camp in Arizona, these unique desert lots are available separately or as a combined purchase allowing the owner to realize a custom architectural desert home of their own. Matthew Trzebiatowski, AIA, LEED AP, well known for his award-winning Xeros Residence, has completed significant design work for the owner. Conceived as two dwellings in dialog with each other, nearly all of the “heavy-lifting” has been done to investigate these lots including: survey, geotechnical borings, archeological study + endangered species analysis, and civil engineering investigations, which show how a compound of modern structures would set into this very beautiful natural landscape and wash.
Grading and drainage approval is in hand and a City of Phoenix building permit approved for the north lot (BRIDGE) and must be pulled by mid-September. Design Development work is done on the south lot (CANTILEVER), permit application is not begun yet. The architectural model concept images shows how the two buildings coexist in concept. The location along the Baseline Road corridor offers easy access to South Mountain Park and is close to the Raven GC, SMCC and freeway connection to Tempe/Mesa/Chandler with ease. Now offered at a fraction of the owners’ investment, each lot can be purchased, but the design would necessitate both parcels. Unspoiled land in this exciting corridor rarely comes available, let alone with designs and investigations of this caliber.
