Built in 1954, this home was conceived as a flagship of modern homebuilding for the developer/builders that opened this irrigated neighborhood in what was then, north Phoenix. Indeed, this is a dream home for anyone who cherishes and understands the incredible scale and optimistic detail found only in true Mid-Century Modern homes!

A rare find, this amazing home has been comfortably updated while retaining ALL of its original design details. Originally featured in the Arizona Republic as early as 1955 and again as recently as 1995, the Paul E. Jones Residence, as the home was known, offered a very forward-thinking house design singled out for its “indoor-outdoor living” and its unique concept as a “patio-home”: with covered outdoor spaces intended for use to allow the owner to stretch their day-to-day living into the outdoors.

The home was constructed by Blesh-Sells Builders. Many of the original fixtures and details are still with the home. The home endures today in wonderful condition. There’s so much special here: a unique curved concrete block wall (which we think echoes an early computer punchcard!) and the generous overhangs which are perforated with round openings that let the sun playfully dance against the home throughout the day. Dramatic “V” shaped steel posts add support and style. Inside, inspired details such as the original wood screen doors and backlighted coved ceilings let the home feel both connected and comforting.
